Top 5 Trends found at the Ideal Home Show 2018

This year, the Ideal Home Show did not disappoint. Inspiration was in abundance with trends to suit a large range of tastes and styles. Our favourite top trends seen at the show round up what to look out for ahead of SS18.

Soft Industrial

The industrial look has taken off in a big way, prompting homeowners to strip back to bare brick and bring texture and material to the forefront of their designs. Metallic colours, smart lighting solutions, wood grain and shades of charcoal feel cosier and comfortable than ever before. With the clever placement of plants and tactile soft furnishings, the industrial look is kept from appearing too harsh. After all, a home is a home, and some belongings are made to be displayed. Soften your industrial look with warmer wood and simple geometric patterns.

Our Duette® thermal blinds come in the colours and sleek shapes that would complement this look well. The energy saving properties will also help to keep any industrial inspired room from feeling cold and uninviting.

Pastel Pink Kitchen

This pastel pink kitchen is the epitome of a day to night transformation with the use of some show stopper lighting. Neon won’t be the taste of everyone, but if you are feeling bold this simple shape will add that modern industrial element when off and then completely transform the ambience when lit. Warm charcoals, soft pink tones and marble finishes make this a really fun twist for a modern kitchen.

For the kitchen we provide Vinyl Shutters that are able to cope with the wet, hot and steamy conditions. These shutters are spray painted with a satin finish to mimic the appearance of the classical painted wood.

Botanical Bedroom

From plants to clear the air to clever storage ideas that champion the need to keep things neat, this serene space promotes a good night’s rest and an environment to peacefully reflect on the day. The stylish four poster bed, botanical influences, relaxing hues of green and lilac with hints of modern glass keep this look modern and peaceful.

Our classical Wooden Shutters help to enhance the view out of the window, framing the scene beautifully and available to colour match and fit any shape window. Allowing light to flood the room naturally.

Hi-Tech Media Room

New to this year’s room sets is the family-friendly media room, celebrating cutting-edge multi-media technology and hardworking storage ideas. Showcasing modern-day living at its finest, the space features modular furniture, smart lighting and a projector for in-room entertainment. Warm teals, blues and oranges combine with a variety of textures to create a stylish multifunctional space.

This bold media room would go great with our Electric Blinds. So at the touch of a button, the blinds come down ready for the movie to begin!

Wellness Bathroom

This Scandi style sauna room is the instant wow factor with all the elements that would complete a luxury bathroom. Smart waterproof wallpaper depicting an elegant floral watercolour, behind a walk-through shower adding depth to the space. The freestanding bath taking centre stage with a tactile chalk paint finish. Finishing the space with a personal sauna and rolled towels to complete the spa ambiance.

To keep this light airy feel we provide Café Style Blinds which are operated from the bottom up; offering ultimate privacy on the lower half of the window, whilst still allowing light to flood in from above. Available in the soothing pastel shades that compliment this style.
