Tracked Shutters FAQs

How do tracked shutters work?

Ideal for large window coverings or for doors, Tracked or track shutters are plantation shutters or Solid shutter panels guided on a top and bottom track to allow for smooth operation, available in various panel configurations. Think of them as sliding window shutters but for doors, similar to sliding wardrobe doors, except that instead of sliding behind one another, the shutters concertina fold. Depending on whether you choose Vinyl, composite or wooden shutters, some shutters can have the stacks folded back against the wall.

How to fit tracked shutters?

Your installer will fit a track system to the top and bottom at your window or door and the shutters are then installed on the tracks to glide seamlessly. They're a popular choice for patio doors, French doors or also for large windows. They can also be fitted as a room divider, reducing one large room into two smaller separate rooms for flexible contemporary living zones.

Will Tracked shutters help keep my room warm?

Yes they will. Tracked shutters provide an excellent insulating barrier at your patio, French or bi-fold door, keeping the warmth inside and the cold outside during winter. They can reduce heat loss by up to 36% so they're a good way to help make your room more energy efficient. In the summer you can also benefit from their ability to keep the room cool too, just keep the louvres closed when the sun is out and the room will be more temperate.
