Welcome in the New Year by bringing your conservatory bang up-to-date. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite top trends for the new season:
1. Lush green plants
Bring the outside in by creating a hothouse feel in your conservatory. Add lush green plants in a variety of shapes and sizes – the more the better! Try hanging baskets inside to create extra interest.
2. Pink and blue
The Pantone Institute has named rose quartz and serenity blue as its colours of 2016. You can use them as accent colours in soft furnishings, in a wallpaper design, or painted on a feature wall. Choose a lighter or darker shade to suit your decorating scheme.
3. Metallics and mirrors
The Downton effect means that 1920s inspired materials are everywhere this season. Look for beautiful copper planters, mirrored cabinets or metallic tables. Alternatively, go for metal blinds.
4. Exotic wood
There’s so much to love about warm wood and this year, the trend is towards the more exotic. But pine and oak are still firm favourites so it’s easy to bring this trend into your conservatory with well-crafted wooden furniture.
The hand-made look is still extremely popular so seek out accessories and furnishings that are one of a kind. Try unique holiday souvenirs, sumptuous hand-knitted throws and cushions, or hand-thrown pots in unusual shapes. For the ultimate hand-made window dressing for your conservatory, choose Thomas Sanderson’s made-to-measure blinds or shutters.
