What is a PowerViewTM Hub?
The PowerView Hub enables use of the PowerView App. The PowerView Hub connects to a Wi-Fi router, and communicates with your PowerViewTM blinds from Thomas Sanderson. The Hub stores user-defined data, such as Scene and Schedule information, and provides control of blinds from anywhere in the world using the RemoteConnectTM feature.
What is a PowerView Repeater?
The PowerView Repeater works alongside the PowerView Remotes, Scene Controllers, and the PowerView Hub to expand coverage of your PowerView Shade Network within the home.
What is the PowerView Pebble Scene Controller?
The PowerView Pebble Scene Controller works in conjunction with the PowerView Hub to quickly navigate and activate your personalised list of Scenes.
What is a Scene?
A Scene is a combination of pre-programmed blind positions in any given room, adjusted to the exact position that you want. Scenes can be created and operated by the PowerViewTM App to meet different light and privacy needs throughout the day. Just activate the Scene with a touch and the blinds move to their perfect pre-set positions. Even better, set your Scenes to automatically follow your daily activities using the Scheduling feature of the PowerView App.
How long can I expect the batteries to last on my battery-powered motorised blind?
Battery life for PowerViewTM motorised window treatments using the AA battery wand exceeds one year, depending on blind size, configuration and usage. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
Do I need to run wires?
No wiring is necessary for PowerViewTM blinds. Thomas Sanderson offer a variety of power options including battery and plug-in power supplies to fit any application.
Do PowerViewTM have built-in Wi-Fi?
Thomas Sanderson PowerViewTM blinds do not have built-in Wi-Fi. All blinds communicate wirelessly via the PowerViewTM Hub
What Wi-Fi routers work best with the PowerViewTM Hub?
The PowerViewTM Hub is designed to work with nearly all Wi-Fi routers. However, security settings or special configurations may affect communication with the Hub.
What is the range of the radio frequency signal using PowerViewTM blinds?
Ranges of radio frequency (RF) signals in a home vary based on construction and conditions in the home (electronic devices, plumbing, electrical runs, etc.). Similar radio components are used for the PowerViewTM PebbleTM Remote, PowerViewTM Hub and PowerViewTM Scene Controllers. PowerViewTM Repeaters are available to extend the range when needed.

What does the Favorite button on the PowerViewTM remote do?
A “favourite” position can be created and set for every PowerViewTM blind in the home. The Favourite button is a quick and easy way to send blinds to their specific position(s) from a single button press.
Can I use my new PowerViewTM Pebble Remote to operate blinds I’ve previously purchased?
The new PowerViewTM components use a different communication method cannot be used to control older products which use PowerRise blinds or the PlatinumTM App.
How many blinds can I control using the PowerViewTM PebbleTM Remote or PowerViewTM Surface Remote?
A PowerView remote can be used to operate numerous blinds in groups, as long as they can receive commands from the remote, or 6 blinds individually.
How far away can I be when operating blinds from my PowerViewTM remote?
Operational distances will vary based on the construction of the home. Large open areas promote greater operational distances. We recommend 1 remote per room PowerViewTM blinds.
Can I use a 3rd party remote to operate my PowerViewTM blinds?
Third-party ‘universal’ remotes cannot be used to directly control PowerViewTM blinds.
How much does the PowerViewTM App cost?
The PowerViewTM App is a free download. However, in order for the App to be able to operate shades, a PowerViewTM Hub must be purchased.
What mobile platforms and devices are compatible with the PowerViewTM App?
The PowerViewTM App is available for Apple® iOS (running version 8.0 and newer) and AndroidTM mobile devices (running version 4.0 and newer).
Are there monthly service fees associated with PowerViewTM App?
Thomas Sanderson does not charge any additional fees for PowerViewTM App updates or for the use of RemoteConnectTM. For features that use your mobile wireless network, check with your carrier for data rate charges that may apply
Do I need an internet connection to set up the PowerViewTM App to control my blinds?
No, an internet connection is not necessary, unless you are using the RemoteConnectTM feature.
How many blinds can I control using the PowerViewTM App?
You can control all PowerViewTM blinds in a home from the PowerViewTM App.
Can I operate my blinds from outside of my home anywhere in the world using the PowerViewTM App on my Apple® or AndroidTM Device?
Yes, you can adjust your blinds to pre-set Scenes and Multiple Room Scenes when you’re away via the RemoteConnectTM feature. RemoteConnect must be enabled in your PowerView Hub and configured within the PowerView App settings while using your device on the home network.
What is a Multiple-Room Scene? -
Multiple-Room Scenes are collections of Scenes from separate Rooms that allow you to activate Scenes around your home at the same time.
Will Schedules work even if my mobile device is not at home?
Yes, Schedules will continue to operate window coverings to pre-set Scenes at the programmed time(s) of day even if the wireless device is not in the home. All Schedule settings are stored in the PowerViewTM Hub.
Do Schedules automatically change for Daylight Savings Time? -
Schedules will adjust for Daylight Savings Time automatically after you connect to the PowerViewTM Hub using the PowerViewTM App. The internal clock in the PowerViewTM Hub will update to the current date and time. If the PowerView Hub is connected to the internet, Daylight Savings Time will be automatically updated.
What is RemoteConnectTM? -
RemoteConnect is a feature within the PowerViewTM App that allows users to activate Scenes while outside the home, anywhere internet connectivity is possible.
My RemoteConnectTM feature is not working.
Make sure your PowerViewTM Hub is plugged into a router with internet access and that your internet connection is working.
RemoteConnectTM must be enabled within the PowerView Hub. Use the PowerView App to enable RemoteConnectTM and create a 4-digit PIN.
While in the home, select and activate any one of the Scenes that you have created. This refreshes the Scene information stored on your mobile device. Once a Scene has successfully run, the data has been updated on your mobile device and RemoteConnectTM should function properly.
Can I control my blinds with PowerViewTM from my home automation system?
With the addition of the PowerViewTM Hub, blinds with PowerViewTM can be integrated into a home automation system via RS-232 serial input or IP (internet protocol) from many common systems.
